Bump Doubles is a supremely fun doubles format that involves 3 sets of tennis with different partners and opponents in every set.

Bump Doubles runs once a year, in the summer (July 1 through September 30). Participation is FREE for Washoe Tennis Club members, and signing up does not mean you must commit to playing a certain number of weeks. Sign up on Tennis Asylum.

The Singles Ladder runs three seasons a year (winter, spring and summer), and each season culminates in a tournament with actual prize money funded entirely by a small fee to join (open to Washoe Tennis Club members; the summer season is an Open event, with no membership required). Most players are at the 4.0, 3.5 and 4.5 level, but it is open to all levels. Both men and women can play in the same ladder, and it’s open to all ages – a great opportunity for middle and high school students to gain match experience, as many have in the past. Play who you want, when you want, where you want, and get in great shape in the process!

The Doubles Ladder is our open doubles event: no Washoe Tennis Club membership is required. Bring a partner, play your ladder matches wherever you and your opponents agree (in your own area, if you like) from November 1 through January 31, and the teams that played 4 or more different teams are seeded into a division tournament with prize money, starting February 1. Men’s, women’s and mixed teams play against each other.

Trio League is our spring team event (March 1 through May 31): teams of three play each week, rotating between singles and doubles each set. Tennis Asylum assigns the teams automatically, balanced by dynamic rating with men and women matched perfectly.

We have a thriving community of Washoe USTA teams (teams who play with Washoe as their home courts). You can browse through this area’s USTA teams by visiting the NorCal website (click on Join a Team). Area newcomers will want to know that while all other districts use the standard USTA TennisLink website, the Northern California district is the only United States district that uses its own proprietary (NorCal) website to manage its district USTA teams. If you are a USTA member who just moved to the NorCal district, you’ll need to contact NorCal so they can import your information from USTA’s main system.
