The Deck
You may have noticed a change in our landscape – the old wooden deck has been demolished and the pieces hauled off.
But not to fear, a new deck is scheduled to begin construction on November 8, 2018.
The new deck will be constructed of concrete for a long life. It will be built in the same location and will occupy a footprint similar to that of the old deck. The new deck design calls for an area of 550 square feet. The approximate cost of the new deck is estimated to be $8,000.
A shade structure is planned to be added as well. The cost has not yet been determined. The shade structure will be added when RTC finances along with the remainder of the donations can support the expense.
We have received donations of $12,000, as well as $445 from the T-shirt sales and $1,287 from the Compass Tournament for the new deck.
In addition to Lithia Subaru, Jack Saik and Eileen Rountree each have generously donated funds to help build the new deck.
Jack Saik’s donation started the thinking process about replacing our dilapidated deck.
The donation by Eileen Rountree is in loving memory of her parents, Harold and Luella Olson.
Thank you both, Jack and Eileen, for your generosity and philanthropic leadership.
A big “Thank You” also goes to Washoe County for supplying the resources to safely demolish the deck and help in removing the debris.
